Theresa Fanelli went home to the Lord and her mama on April 19, 2017.She was born in 1928, the youngest of ten children of Rose and Antonio Fanelli. Theresa was an adventuresome and independent woman who made a career in marketing that started at entry level and by retirement found her the head of her own purchasing department for Mercantile Stores. Throughout her career she met and interacted with many people and found friends throughout the country. She was an avid traveler who loved to see new places and visited countries around the world before they were fashionable and cities and states throughout America. But she was a New Yorker through and through and couldn’t get enough of “The Apple”.  She had only good things to say about her home town and visited all the museums, theaters and churches. Outside of New York City she enjoyed casinos and flew each year to Las Vegas while she was able. In later years she enjoyed bus trips to Atlantic City with her church. As a retiree she donated her time and energies as a hospital volunteer and as an active member of her local Sons of Italy chapter. She was generous to many charities and held the St. Francis Breadline in Manhattan close to her heart.

Although Theresa never married she was a mentor and friend to her 19 nieces and nephews, and godmother to several.

She was predeceased by her parents, Rose and Antonio Fanelli and her nine brothers and sisters, Frank, William, Catherine, Carmella, Angelo, Louis, Pasquale, Anne and Sarah.

She is survived by 5 nephews and 11 nieces.
