Sylvain Jacques Denis, known to his loved ones as Sylvain, peacefully passed away on November 3, 2023, at the age of 87 in Brooklyn, NY. He was born on June 6, 1936, in Gonaives, Haiti.

Sylvain was a kind, generous, and loving individual who took great pride in his role as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Sylvain is survived by his beloved wife, Suzanne Denis, and his children Marie Myrtho (Micheal) Denis Brudent, Frantz (Alexandra) Denis, and Patrick (Judith) Denis. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren Melissa Henry, Francesca Cassandra Denis, Sebastien Denis, Jelani Denis, Christina Denis, and great-grandchildren Ayden, Yaromir, and Noah.

He was preceded in death by his son Ronald Denis, his mother Adeline Michel, his father Raphaël Helvetius Denis, his brother Hugo Denis, his sister Denise Alexis, his sister Peguy Denis, his sister Eunide Denis, and his brother/Godson Eddy Denis.

In his free time, Sylvain enjoyed playing and watching soccer, dominoes, reading, and dancing. These hobbies brought him great joy and allowed him to connect with others who shared his interests.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation, which will take place on Saturday, November 11, 2023, from 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM at O'Brien-Sheipe Funeral Home Inc., located at 640 Elmont Road, Elmont, NY 11003.
