Obituary

Stephen Wayne Worrell also known as “Denta” was 75. He passed away on Thursday August 7th 2024 at Mercy Hospital, Rockville Center, N.Y. He had an amazing life.

Stephen was born on December 29th 1948 in Point-A- Pierre Trinidad in the West Indies. He was the son of Fitzgerald and Zin Worrell. Stephen attended Eckles Village EC school and St. John’s College. After graduation he became a Police Officer. He had amazing career and was proud of his accomplishments.

Married to his wife for 35 years he migrated to the United States in 1990. Stephen was predeceased by his parents, his brothers Fitz-bert and Gladstone, and sons Stephan and Mark.

He is survived by his wife Sandra, his brother Acton, his sister Jenny, his children Simone, Ginelle, Rachael, Dwayne, DanaLeigh, Dwight, Reign , Puma and his 21 grandchildren.

Stephen lived the best life he knew and left this earth wishing he could see his youngest grand child all grown up. While our hearts mourn we take comfort in knowing that he is no longer suffering. In his final thoughts he shared his pride of his kids and grandkids, his love for his wife and his sincere thanks to his friends. Stephen never loss his great sense of humor.

A special thank to the most incredible staff of St Francis Hospital, the Cancer Center and the Hospice of Mercy Hospital for such awesome patient care during his illness.

Service will be held at the St. Boniface Catholic Church on Saturday August 17th 2024 at 11:00am.

Visitation will be at the O’Brien-Sheipe Funeral Home from 8;30am to 10:30 am.
