Sharrol L. Martin Obituary

Sharrol’s Obituary

Sharrol Martin was born on June 28th 1973 to a proud, strong and courageous mother, Cynthia Martin in New York City. She was the youngest of five children. Sharrol attended P.S. 124, Linden 192 Junior High School and Andrew Jackson Highschool. She received an Associate degree in English from Hunter College. Sharrol started her professional career working at Verizon, formerly known as NYNEX where she worked as a clerk in the payroll department. She later followed her passion for helping people by embarking in the nursing field working at Dominican Village Long Island Assisted Living Community. She enjoyed bringing laughter and joy to many residents placed in her care. Sharrol fell in love with Robert Brown and they later married on February 5, 2004. She was the proud and doting mother of two beautiful children, Meshach and Sasha. Sharrol was a true fashionista with her many stylish outfits and numeros hats befitting any occasion. She had a loving heart and giving spirit. Sharrol always had your back no matter what. She epitomized the term ride or die. If you needed something she got it for you even when she didn't have it herself. She gave friendly advice and always listened to your concerns. She enjoyed a good party, Rum Punch, which she made and called it, “Itsgood Punch” and many occasions she enjoyed her brother Sam’s Jerk Chicken. Family and friendships were what she lived for. She was always planning the next family get together before the current one had ended. If it wasn't a holiday or birthday it would be when is the next barbeque? Sharrol was a member of The Angelic Voices for Christ who won the 1987 McDonald's GospelFest and produce an album. They performed at many events in many states. They even went to perform in Japan at which she was quite thrilled. She continued her love of singing with the Interfaith Choir of Newburgh and Newburgh People's Chorus. She was a God fearing woman. She attended Prince of Peace Lutheran Church before finding a church home at Immanuel Church. Sharrol leaves to celebrate her life and legacy, her husband Robert Brown, son Meshach Brown, daughter Sasha Brown, older siblings Roger (sister in law Shereen Isaacs Reynolds), Samuel (sister in law Yolanda Anderson), Tem, Arica (brother in law Edens Kebreau). Aunt Rita, Uncle Stephen, Nephews: Samuel, Jeremiah, Garrett, Devin, Adriel, Kei, Alex, Timothy, Nieces: Asia, Eliana, Micah, Reyah, Cousins: Clifford , Elorine, Derek (Paul), Ian, Andrew, Kiera and a host of other family members friends and neighbors.
