Randall Lenard Finnely departed this life at age 68 on February 9, 2026. Randall was born on October 20, 1957 in Jacksonville, Florida to Henry L. Finnely and Patricia E. Finnely. He obtained his education in the Utica, New York and Willingboro, New Jersey school systems.
Randy, as he was known to family and friends, resided in Brooklyn, New York all his adult life. In the late 70's, he became a loose follower of the Muslim faith. He abopted the name "Raheem" and adhered to some of the Muslim beliefs and practices. Randy held several positions from warehouse worker to utility worker to custodian to stock clerk. He spent his later adult years working as a messanger for Goodwill Industries of Greater NY and Northern NJ, Inc. before becoming disabled. Randy loved his music (R&B, Funk and Rap) and sports (Basketball and Football). One of the last sporting events he got to view was Super Bowl IX before his passing.
Despite the many health challenges Randy faced over the years, his genuine concern for family was always first and foremost. Always asking how everyone was doing. He remained strong in mind as he fought a long, difficult battle. Randy will be remembered for his gentle soul and incredible strength, his occasional jokes and laughter.
Randall Lenard Finnely is preceded in death by his sister, Marisa Mohammed (September 8, 2025), who was a strong advocate for his health and well-being. He is survived by his sister Andrea Finnely; nephews Trey Burton and Myles Burton, Brian Mohammed and Brandon Mohammed; niece-in-law Kathie Mohammed; great-nieces Zara, Zemirah, Zelah, Zamar and great nephew Zaire (Mohammed); brother-in-law Elton Mohammed; and extended family and friends.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
