Our beloved Muguette Frantze Prophete was born in Port Au Prince, Haiti to Alice and Leo Gardiner on October 28, 1944. She was the youngest of nine siblings, with four sisters and four brothers.
Growing up in Port Au Prince, Muguette attended some of the most prestigious schools. Sacre’ Coeur de Turgeau, Lycee des Jeunes Filles and Lycee Alexandre Petion where she completed her education.
Muguette came to the United States as a young woman in pursuit of her dreams. She resided in Brooklyn, New York where she overcame the challenges she encountered as an immigrant determined to provide a better life for her family. She was professionally employed by one of the most prominent banks in the United States, JP Morgan. She later transitioned to care for the elderly at Dewitt Nursing Home.
She married the love of her life Jacques Prophet and had two children Natasha and Jacques Prophet whom she loved dearly.
Muguette was the matriarch of the family. She never missed a family function. She was always there to provide support and assistance to family when needed. She was a kind hearted woman who loved to travel and enjoyed all aspects of life.
Muguette is survived by her son Jacques (Jacky) Prophet, her sisters Florence Ganot, Ghlislaine Cyrille, her brothers, Wilfred Gardiner, Alix Gardiner, Robert Gardiner and her brother in law Charlie Charles.
