Mireille (Lumene Osiclair) Pierre-Charles (affectionately called Memen) was a devoted mother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. Born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, she relocated to the United States in 1973. She worked for several years for the NYC Traffic Division as a Traffic Enforcement Agent, until her retirement. Lumene was known for her love of cooking, quick wit humor, and her commitment and faith in the Catholic Church. She left this world on December 20, 2022, and will be dearly missed by all those who loved her. She is survived by her devoted son Jean C. Elie, her brothers Sauveur Osiclair, Jacky Osiclair, Addy Osiclair, Jacques Osiclair, Roosevelt Osiclair, Allen Osiclair, Pierre Osiclair, her sisters Michele Osiclair and Alice Osiclair, her ‘adopted’ sons Frederic and Marvin Buteau, her cousins, Bertholet Desir and his wife Aimee Desir, Marie-Denise Desir, Yva Desir, Jocelyn Desir, Yvette Paul, as well as several other nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
A viewing will be held from 8:30 to 10:30 AM on Friday, December 30, 2022, at O’Brien-Sheipe Funeral Home followed by a funeral mass at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Elmont at 11 AM. She will then be laid to rest at Pinelawn Memorial Park and Arboretum.
