Marlene Kinsey (nee Lamothe) was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, on August 24, 1939, to Eva Alexandre and Hermann Lamothe, she was the eldest of four children. She spent the better part of her life in Brooklyn, NY. She is survived by her partner of many years Gerard, her sister Marie-Eveline, her cousins, nephews, and nieces. Both her parents and her brothers Frantz and Ernst preceded her in death.
Marlene worked as a staff manager for the Parklane Hotel in Manhattan, NY, before taking her leave. She loved her family and cared deeply for their well-being. Although she had not had children of her own, her nieces and nephews were very important figures in her life.
On September 5, 2021, at the age of 82, God called her home. She passed away peacefully at the Maimonides Medical Center. Even though her failing health took her away from this world, her loving heart left a beacon of light for her family.
A viewing is scheduled on September 25, 2021, at O’Brien-Sheipe Funeral Home in Elmont, NY, at 8 a.m. followed by a funeral service at Saint-Boniface Rectory, in Elmont, NY, at 10 a.m. Interment will be in the Cypress Hills Cemetery.
