Grandma/Maren
She loved you no matter what, through mistakes, growth, and everything in between. She has a special love and is very sensitive towards her grandkids and all who encountered her.
She was selfless in that she always put others before herself and gave without expecting anything in return. We were told even as a young woman growing up in Haiti, she exemplified those said qualities.
And those who knew Maren. she had such a sense of humor. When you think she was getting old and expecting seriousness from her, she would hit you with a joke that reminds you of i humanity and sense of humor. This is who she was.
Our Maren/ Grandmother was a matriarch especially in the kitchen. Everyone who knew her, on Sunday's she would cook and the house would be filled with visitors coming for a plate. Even when working a few years at Chez Jacqueline which was a local restaurant. people would travel from far to dine in and enjoy the deliciousness of her culinary skills. This is where all her kids and grandkids got their cooking talent as well.
Maren's relationship with God was always demonstrated in her selflessness and compassion for people. Those attributes were indicative to her being a woman of the Most High God.
We remember having an 80th birthday party for her and how her heart lit up and how much she glowed in the presence of family and friends. The amount of people that showed up was a testament as to the person she was. Anyone who encountered Maren would either be laughing, learning or getting a story of the good old days.
Unfortunately at the age of 92, our grandmother wasn't doing well. Her health began to decline and her body began to shut down and she unfortunately succumbed to her declining health.
The primary caregivers were Yves Keslin, Gladys Samuel, Sergine Louis- Keslin and Maria
Our grandmother wasn't a Parishioner at said Church. She tuned in via social media at online churches services learning and receiving the Gospel of Jesus Christ through various mediums she also attended St Antoine.
