Marie Anne Tulie Boutin Obituary

In Loving Memory of Marie Anne Tulie Boutin

With profound sorrow and deep gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we honor the memory of Marie Anne Tulie Boutin—a remarkable woman, our beloved mother, devoted wife, treasured grandmother, cherished aunt, and guiding matriarch.

Marie Anne began her professional journey as a secretary at the Embassy in Haiti, where her integrity, intelligence, and compassion quickly distinguished her. In that role, she extended far beyond her formal duties, assisting family members, friends, and neighbors in accessing educational opportunities, employment, and visas. She understood the power of opportunity and quietly worked to ensure others had access to it.

Following her marriage to civil engineer Anthony Gerard Boutin, she relocated to Zaire, where she continued to uplift those around her. Her home became a place of warmth, fellowship, and joyful celebration. She possessed a rare gift for bringing people together—introducing many to lifelong partners, trusted friends, and meaningful professional opportunities. Her gatherings were not merely social occasions; they were spaces where community flourished and lasting bonds were formed.

Later, she settled in New York with her four children—three sons and a daughter—where she devoted herself both to her family and to meaningful work in a nursing home. There, she offered comfort, dignity, and compassion to the elderly, earning the admiration of colleagues and the heartfelt appreciation of families who entrusted their loved ones to her care. She did not simply perform a job; she served with tenderness and grace.

Her family was her proudest accomplishment and greatest joy. She took early retirement to help raise her grandchildren, investing in them the same wisdom, discipline, and unconditional love that defined her life. She welcomed her three daughters-in-law as daughters of her own heart. Through her example, gentle counsel, and steadfast support, she nurtured and strengthened them in their roles as wives and mothers, always guiding with love and quiet dignity.

In her later years, she devoted herself fully to caring for her beloved husband until his passing, exemplifying devotion in its purest form. Even in widowhood, her service to others never ceased. She drove elderly friends to church and to Foxwoods, volunteered faithfully at her local church food pantry, and personally delivered meals to those who were housebound. She ensured that no one within her reach felt forgotten, hungry, or alone.

She was a trusted confidante, a source of wise counsel in matters of life and love, and a watchful guardian over the younger generation. Her strength was gentle yet unwavering; her generosity was quiet yet profound.

The family also wishes to honor her incredible and selfless son, Gerard, affectionately known as “Jr.” Out of deep love and devotion, he retired early from his career to help care for his mother. He sacrificed vacations with his wife, drove her to every appointment, and ensured she was never alone and always had everything she needed. His dedication brought her immense pride and happiness. He exemplified the very values she instilled in her children—loyalty, responsibility, and unconditional love. He is, and will always be, the best big brother.

Marie Anne Tulie Boutin leaves behind four devoted children, eight adoring grandchildren, three daughters-in-law,  one  Son in Law . Loving Brother's and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives are forever enriched by her love.

We will miss her beyond words. We are forever grateful and deeply blessed to have had her as our mother. Her legacy of faith, service, hospitality, and enduring grace will live on in each of
