Marie Rosemonde Agenor

Marie Rosemonde Agenor, age 65, found peace and rest with the Lord on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at North Shore University Hospital. She was born on Thursday, February 7, 1957, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, to Penor and Jesula (Milford) Eugene. She was a graduate of Collège Cœur de Jésus and Collège Franck Etienne.  She worked as a bus matron for Hoyt, a substitute teacher for children with special needs, and a nurse’s assistant for St. Nicholas. Rosemonde is survived by her husband of 33 years, Walner; her 5 children and niece Chelsea Valmir, who she helped raise as one of her own; sisters Paula Eugene and Dieudele Jean; brothers Paulo and Clarens Eugene; grand aunt Lea Damus and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her parents, Penor and Jesula Eugene, her sister Gerda Eugene and brother Dieupaunor Eugene. 

Rosemonde truly lived life for her children and caring for that of others. She excelled at supporting Walkins and Nadely as they pursued a career in law enforcement and finance, respectively, and inspiring Ashley, Keesandra, Chelsea, and Walmonde to become a registered nurse, medical doctor, doctor of physical therapy, and social worker. She was proud of all her children, and never failed to remind them of that. Rosemonde had a joy for dancing, cooking, praise and worship, bible study, and organizing events that brought the family together. She had a gift of bringing peace and love to all those around her. 

Family, friends and others whose lives Rosemonde touched are invited to grieve and support each other immediately prior to her burial on Friday, November 18, 2022 at O'Brien-Sheipe Funeral Home Inc., 640 Elmont Road, Elmont, NY 11003, from 10 AM - 10:45 AM. The funeral service is scheduled at 11 AM at St. Boniface RC Church, 631 Elmont Road, Elmont, NY 11003.  The repast/funeral reception will follow at 2 PM at Chez Mirielle’s Restaurant, 170 Post Avenue, Westbury , NY, 11590.
