Rosa Maria Linda Leconte Zephyrin, a beloved wife and mother, sadly passed away
on Friday, March 21. She lived a life filled with kindness and grace. Known for her
vibrant personality, irresistible charm, and undeniable beauty, Linda was a beacon of
light and inspiration for her entire community.
Born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, to Edeline Degraff (nee DeJean,) Linda was the third
of 10 children and the first to arrive in the United States. She dreamt of traveling the
world before turning 30, but she accomplished that by 19. Just before reaching that
milestone, she welcomed her greatest achievement, her daughter, Ingrid.
After leaving Haiti to pursue her adventures, Linda dedicated herself to bringing her
mother and the six younger siblings she left behind into the U.S. Upon her return,
she attended Wilfred Beauty Academy to pursue a career as an esthetician, just
before she met the love of her life, Sonny, who devoted himself with the promise "Through
thick and thin; in sickness and in health; until death do us part"
Although she sang off-key and danced to the beat of her own drum, her true talents
lay in the domestic realm. She was an excellent cook, had a gift for organization, and
turned homemaking into an art form.
Linda is survived by her beloved husband, Sonny, her daughter, Ingrid, sons James
and Peter, and grandchildren, Nalani, Sencere, and Shara. She leaves behind a
great-grandson, Monti, and another great-grandson, Reid, on the way. Linda had nine
siblings: Eduard (deceased), Raoul, Dorothy, Douglas, Nadja, Litz, Marie, Ridjie,
and Samoa
