With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jean Ernst Dumornay, who was called to eternal rest on December 8, 2024, at the age of 86 in Valley Stream, New York. Born on June 26, 1938, in Port-au-Prince, Ouest, Haiti, Jean was the fourth beloved son of Andre and Claire Dumornay, among their seven children: Anne-Marie, Camille, Jacques, Marie Claire, Raymond, and Frantz.

Jean’s life was defined by his deep devotion to his family and his unwavering commitment to hard work. He was the proud father of eight children: Erwing, Patrick, and Mario with Raymonde Paillant; Anzy, Katherine, Idomonee, and Vaninawith Monique Jourdain; and Andrew with Judith Joseph. Jean cherished his role as a father, instilling in his children the values of love, discipline, and perseverance.

A loving grandfather and great-grandfather, Jean leaves behind a legacy of beautiful grandchildren and precious great-grandchildren who will forever hold his memory in their hearts.

Jean’s life was marked by ambition, entrepreneurship, and an unwavering work ethic. He will be remembered for his strong spirit, warm smile, and the love he shared with all who knew him.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate his life and honor his memory. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the love of God, as we carry him in our hearts forever, hearing the familiar tune of his whistle.
