Hans Coutard

Hans Coutard was born on October 27, 1942 to Renee and Franck Coutard in Petit-Goâve, Haiti. He peacefully went home to be with the Lord on September 9, 2025, at Glen Cove Hospital.

Hans was a devoted husband, father, and proud grandfather affectionately called “Pop Pop” by some of his grandchildren. He began his career with CAMEP in Haiti, where he trained in water source analysis, before immigrating to the United States in the 1970’s. In Washington, D.C., he met the love of his life, Myrtis Lucille Walker, and together they shared 32 wonderful years until her passing in 2013.

For 39 years, Hans worked at the Republican National Committee as a building engineer where he was admired for his dedication, integrity, and kindness. His role gave him the unique opportunity to meet several U.S. Presidents . These special moments he cherished deeply. One of his proudest achievements came in 2010, when he became a U.S. citizen, a milestone that reflected his gratitude, perseverance, and love for his adopted country.

He is survived by his children, Frantz Coutard and Jasmine Coutard; Joyce Walker and Bobby Walker; grandchildren, Monica, Briana, Bryan, Briana W, and Zavier; great-grandson, Jordan; and his siblings, Marie Josee Coutard, Marie Bernadette Coutard, Adeline Fortunat, and Alix Coutard, and many nieces and nephews whom he adored.Each of them carries his memory with love and gratitude.

Hans will be remembered for his laughter, strength, and compassion. His legacy of love, hope, and faith will live on in the hearts of all who knew him, leaving behind cherished memories that will be treasured for generations to come.
