In Loving Memory of Ghislaine Salomon
May 30, 1945 – September 27, 2025
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, sister, and grandmother, Ghislaine Salomon, who peacefully departed this life on September 27, 2025, at the age of 80, after a courageous battle with dementia.
Born on May 30, 1945, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, to the late Andre and Yvonne Lambert. Ghislaine, also known by family and friends as “Ghis” and “Ghissy” , carried with her the vibrant spirit, strength, and warmth of her Haitian roots throughout her life. She later made her home in Brooklyn, New York, where she built both a meaningful career and a loving family.
Ghislaine was deeply committed to education and lifelong learning. She earned her high school diploma from Prospect Heights High School, continued her studies at Medgar Evers College, and later pursued her passion for style and creativity by earning a degree in fashion from the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT). Her achievements reflected her determination, intelligence, and strong belief in the power of education.
Ghislaine married Jules Salomon. Together, they raised their two sons, Reginald and Fabrice, first in East Flatbush, New York, where they built their early family life, and later settled in Elmont, New York, where they established their roots.
Professionally, Ghislaine proudly served as a Legal Secretary for the State of New York, where her professionalism, dedication, and grace earned her the respect and admiration of all who worked with her. After many years of service, she retired with distinction, leaving behind a legacy of diligence, integrity, and excellence.
She is lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her devoted sons, Reginald and Fabrice, her loyal sister Marie Jose, and her cherished grandchildren, Olivia, Matthias, and Malakhi. Ghislaine’s kindness, faith, and unwavering love will forever live on in their hearts. Her strength, compassion, and independent spirit will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.
A celebration of life will be held where family and friends will gather to honor her memory and the beautiful life she lived.
May she rest in eternal peace.
