Live Stream: Dulice Paul Celebration of Life
Our beloved Dulcie Paul passed on September 1, 2024. Dulcie was born to be a blessing to each person that has known her on September 14, 1946, to Kissoon and Deokie Maharaj on the island country of Trinidad and Tobago. Raised by her father and Mammy Lackpatiah along with her siblings Dhanrajie (Chillin), Jasso (Carmen), Rampersad (Boy), Deopersad (Lalay) and Antica (Baby) she learned to be a nurturer and caretaker.
In her late teens she found her lifetime faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Young in Christ she already showed herself to be a beacon in her faith leading many people but most especially young children to Christ. From the beginning she was a light that shone brightly in Christ, never dimming throughout her life.
Dulcie married Crispin Paul on November 26, 1967. After her marriage she immigrated to the United States having her five children Remy, Loren, Karen, Michelle, and Melissa. Given her drive for learning she furthered her education obtaining her GED and then in time her nurse’s aide certification. Dulcie worked at South Nassau until her retirement in 2010. Even after retiring she continued to work as a home health aide in both New York and Florida until 2012.
She spent the last years of her life following her calling in service to the Lord inviting others to church and encouraging those new in the faith. She never was idle always giving of her time and capabilities to help strangers quickly bring them into her fold of family. She has over time many adopted sons and daughters that are numerous to list each person having been blessed by her love and faith.
Dulcie is survived by her husband of 57 years, Crispin Paul and her children Remy Paul, Karen (Kader) Habacha, Loren Paul, Michelle (Donald) Paul Tynan, and Melissa Paul as well as her grandchildren Remy Paul Jr., Anya Paul, Amiah Paul Tynan, Omar Habacha and Karima Habacha. She further survived by her siblings and extended family including 35 nephews and nieces.
