Blaise Lucien, affectionately known as Djo Moille and Moclair, passed away on June 10, 2025, at the age of 85.
Born in Mont-Organisé, Haiti, Blaise was a man of quiet strength, wisdom, and unwavering love for his family and homeland. A former French literature teacher in Haiti and a social worker in the Bronx, he lived a life marked by service, dignity, and perseverance.
He was deeply loved by his children, grandchildren, and extended family, and will be remembered for his calm spirit, storytelling, and devotion. Blaise leaves behind a legacy of grace, resilience, and love that continues to inspire all who knew him.
Blaise is survived by his children: Leonidas Blaise, Taisha, and Rodley; and his grandsons: Isaiah Leo, Jhaiden Leonidas, Isaac Antonio, and Caiden Djo. He is also survived by his devoted brothers: Desir, Popo, and Néres, as well as countless nieces, nephews, cousins, former students and friends who will continue to remember him.
