Arielle Leyla Levy

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our ray of sunshine, Arielle Leyla Levy. Known to their loved ones as “Bubs,” “Kiddo,” Boogsie,” “Arietty,” “Short Stuff,” “Yum Yum,” “Willow” and “Aster,” their witty, intelligent, loving, kind-hearted and courageous spirit lives on. Arielle passed away at the tender age of 19, at home on Monday, August 14th, 2023. 

Born to Sandrine Fenelon and Christopher Levy on April 3rd, 2004 at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, Arielle grew to be an inspirational and integral part of Elmont Memorial High School’s community graduating at number 8 of 200+ students in the Class of 2022. Continuing their education at the prestigious Rochester Institute of Technology, Arielle was pursuing an undergraduate degree in Computer Science to become a Video Game Engineer. Arielle was the recipient of various accolades including Art, Music and Science honors in addition to their tremendous community service contributions. 

Arielle placed emphasis on family and quality time with their favorite activities including playing Monopoly and Mario Kart games, taking walks with the family dogs Sapphire and Beauty, talking with friends, drawing and designing unique art pieces. Their creative mind and humor was astounding to all of those that came in contact, the world was their oyster. 

Arielle is survived by their parents, Sandrine and Chris, great-grandmother, Alvina, grandmothers, Marie and Pam, grandfather Anthony, grand-aunt, Margaret, aunts Chayange and Kaura, uncles, Najee, Jermaine, and Antione, godparents Keisha and Stephen John, cousins, extended family, friends and puppy, Beauty. Their predecessors include their great-grandmother, Evadney, grandfather, Roland, and puppy, Sapphire all of which were dear to them. 

We ask that you join us to honor Arielle and celebrate their life. The processions include the viewing on Friday, August 25th, mass of Christian burial and interment on Saturday, August 26th at the O’Brien Funeral Home with details below. We ask, if at all possible, attendees and visitors wear a shade of navy blue for the services. 

The family appreciates your well wishes, trees and flowers being sent and we look forward to celebrating Arielle with you in the near future.
