Obituary
Carmenie Rolande Cadet was born in Port au Prince, Haiti sixth of thirteen to Simeon Cadet and Fernande Philantrope Cadet on December 28, 1936. She did her primary school years at Sainte Thérèse de l’Enfant Jésus. She continued her secondary school studies at Lycée de Jeunes Filles. She completed her Nursing Studies in Montreal Canada graduating from Hopital Saint-Joseph Lachine September 6th, 1959.
She came to New York after she graduated and worked in the field of Nursing until she retired in 2000. Although retired, she continued nursing with her ever so nurturing and giving self to family and friends whenever they seem to be in need. Rolande was very active in the community especially the Haitian Community through Casegha (Association of Scouts and Girl Guides of Haiti) and the Senior Citizen Center in Cambria Heights. She went on multiple extensive medical missions to Haiti sharing her nursing knowledge and skills. She campaigned for different Politian's who held the Haitian cause close to their heart in New York City and New York State.
Anybody who knew Rolande knew she loved to dance, at parties you couldn't get her off the dance floor. She was dancing till her last days in a Red Convertible with her Haitian music blasting! She also loved to travel and had the opportunity to visit many countries around the world where she shopped to her hearts content bringing back souvenirs to remember her travels.
Rolande leaves to cherish her memory her four children Joelle, Vladimir, Serge and Ingrid, her grandchildren Shaniece, Allen, Stephanie, Adero, Chelsea, Jael, Angel and Vladimir Jr. and her great-grandchild Enzo along with her remaining siblings; Emile, Ghislaine, Serge, Raymond and Richard. She also leaves behind sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends who are deeply affected.
