Dorothy Marie Collins

On Wednesday, August 22, 2018, Dorothy Marie Collins, loving daughter, sister, wife, mother of four children and grandmother of seven, went to be with the Lord. Dorothy was born in Belize City to Carlotta Smith and Bill James.  She immigrated to New York City where she met Alfred Collins.  They were married for over 20 years and raised four children.  She worked as a Registered Nurse for over 22 years. At the age of 55, Dorothy fulfilled a lifelong dream to return home to Belize to retire.  She built a home by the river where she lived out a “picture book” retirement in the tropics for over 17 years surrounded by family and friends. Dorothy was preceded in death by her father, Bill, and her baby sister Christina. She is survived by her four children, Stephen, Sean, Kim and Lori, her stepson Richard, her mother Carlotta, her siblings Dennis, Raymond, Erlinda, Sailia, Frances, Albert, Godfrey, Carmen, and Elida, her  grandchildren Keenen, Cain, Caitlin, Ashley, Bryce, Lily, Brielle and several aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
