Grace Elizabeth Piper, better known as “Mama-Liz” to many, was born on June 12^th, 1921 in Roseau, Dominica, West Indies to Frederick Augustus and Pearl Piper. Grace was second eldest to a total of 8 siblings, 2 of which died in infancy.

Grace’s siblings (deceased) include Althea, Arthur, Ashton, Mabel, and Robert.

After a period of time working in Aruba, Grace immigrated to East Elmhurst, New York (USA) in 1950,married Randolph Gachette and later gave birth to sons Michael and Ronald.

Grace is survived by her 4 children (Geoffrey, Denise, Michael, and Ronald), 8 grand-children (Richard, Raymond, Jackie, Alisha, Jason, Geoffrey, Marc, and Simone) and 4 great-grand-children (Zachary, Gabriela, Bryce, and Brynn).  Grace also survived 3 husbands (Cuthbert McIntyre, Randolph Gachette and Kerwyn Toulon).  She laughed when teased that she was trying to bankrupt Social Security.

Grace was a warm, generous, caring person who was vibrant, lively, spoke her mind, and always let you know where you stood with her.  She always listened to everyone and would willingly give advice to others.

In her last months on planet earth the home health aides vividly recall her reply when asked how she was feeling.  Grace would simply reply "It Could Always Be Worse”(John 5:14).She would not complain much about anything and took life as it presented itself to her.  Even when experiencing discomfort or pain she would not complain unless it was at the point of being unbearable.

Grace was loved by many, and will be deeply missed. She is in heaven looking after all of us.
